“The hotel rooms were clean and organized, had a reasonably good view, and were close to various stores/restaurants, making it a good location. The reception was friendly and accommodating. Overall, in terms of the rooms, 5/5 The only problem we had was with regards to the bistro. We had reserved a room that included free breakfasts that were to be picked up at the bistro. Each time we faced a variety of issues. The cashier often "conveniently forgot" to add particular items to our order, made bagels with either two tops or two bottoms and with a micrometre of cream cheese. The first day we arrived there was no chef, meaning no hot meals (which was understandable). The next day, when the chef was in, we decided to order eggs. For $8.50 plus tax, these were the smallest portions for the most mediocre eggs and bacon, not to mention the extra charge for toast, which was around $1.50-$2.50! Our experience with the bistro was a solid 1/5 If you are looking for a good hotel with a nice view and convenient location then Courtyard North Brunswick is a solid choice, provided you avoid the bistro.”

“We arrived very late (past midnight) on a Sunday/Monday at the Marriott Courtyard in North Brunswick, NJ. We had reserved a double queen room for 3 of us (myself, my husband, and son). We had been traveling all day from North Carolina to attend a funeral on Monday morning. Needless to say we were exhausted and drained from our travels. At check in, we were informed that our double queen room was not available and we'd have a King with a sleeper sofa bed. There were no other choices due to a cleaning staff shortage. So, considering the late hour, we took the room. Well the sofa bed was a small thin mattress, which I had to make up with wrinkled (I prayed they were laundered) sheets and a ratty blanket. My son was so tired, he didn't care. I did! We climbed into our queen bed, which was so uncomfortable. Throughout the entire night (well for 5 hours) I was awakened every 20 minutes or so by the loud sound of the air conditioning unit. Then the clincher ... when my husband went into the bathroom to take his shower, there was no soap and the shower did not work!! So, my son went to a relative's room to use their shower and my husband and I made due with a rinse in the tub, luckily we packed our own soap. It was so infuriating! The manager showed up as we were almost ready to leave for the funeral and with an attitude said he was there about the shower! "Too late!" I told him. I also informed him that I expected to be compensated in full for the room rate and we would be checking out instead of staying another night as planned. We did get the refund! But it was really disappointing! I thought Marriott Courtyard was a reliable brand! Never again will we stay there!”
