“We've been to four different Riu Palace properties and several Riu's prior to visiting Riu Palace Costa Mujeres. We stayed in two rooms during Christmas and New Year's holidays. The main thing that came to mind and stayed with us during our 14-day stay was "RIU PALACE ON A BUDGET" What they have instead of a lobby bar doesn’t qualify as a 24hr bar but a place to get self-dispensed alcohol and eat something. "Slippery when wet" floor tiles caving in and cracking in the corners. Everything is brand new and the resort is going through its normal growing pains period.If you ask for something they will try and rectify your complaint quickly.The worst part is housekeeping. (WE TIP!) Twice they didn't service both our rooms at all. The floors were constantly left dirty, coffee makers were not cleaned, cups were not washed, mirrors and toilets were left dirty. Trash cans weren’t always emptied. The list is long, including random removal of bathrobes, random number/size towels, toiletries. If you are picky, bring your own shampoo,they have a very frugal all-in-one dispenser, shampoo/shower gel.No garbage bags- and it shows! Since housekeeping didn't clean anything anyways, the rooms started looking pretty disgusting by day 14. I don't think they visited the balcony at all. We had crumpled Kleenex on the floor (which I used to clean the very dirty drying rack with) for two days until it got blown away onto the roof below. No dusting at all.Vegetation is scarce, it will get there eventually but it looks pretty barren.The Wi-Fi covers the entire resortexcluding some areas. It's not extremely fast but it works. It doesn't work in Riu dunamar.The waterpark feature is great and lots of fun, super fun for kids and adults if you like that kind of thing. However, the floor tiles there are extremely slippery so be very, very careful! It looks like another one of their budget designs,the same gray floor tiles throughout both resorts and the waterpark.The pool swim-up bar is disgusting. One day the water was so murky that you couldn't see the bottom. It doesn't seem like a deterring factor since both drunk adults and little kids in their diapers are equally enjoying themselves in there. Shortage of washrooms in the beach and pool area doesn't help much.Many employees don't speak a word of English.Calling reception is a gamble. Sometimes there is a busy signal, sometimes there is no dial tone or no one picks up.24 hr room service is the same thing. Unfortunately, your order may come with complete disregard for what you've actually ordered after an hour of waiting. Ask them to repeat your order.The gym is basic and not any better than the neighbouring Riu Dunamar.No sauna/steam room- in Dunamar there is a steam room which is free but needs to be pre-booked.No pool table/games, darts, or sports bar of any kind. You can go to Riu Dunamar and pay $3 US per game of pool. Tip: it's 40 pesos in coins which will cost $3 US. Crooked pool cues, stained cloth and no lighting. Three pool tables is all they have there and nothing else.No fruit (at all!) at the beach bar, long lines for finger food/burgers.Only one working elevator- the second one had worked for a total of 2 days in a total of 14 days.Good selection of HDTV channels.Variety and quality of food is very good for an all inclusive.Food preparation can be very good depending on who's cooking. Good variety at the sushi bar.A la carte restaurants are not worth waiting for an hour, in my opinion. Service is slow.Some waiters are trained, helpful, and nice, and some will disregard you completely. It looks like some of them were transferred from resorts where poor service is normal.Both Christmas and New Year's dinners were excellent, included photos of food are from these nights.They need better-trained staff and to improve the cleanliness of the hotel.We would go to another Riu Palace, but would not come back to this one.”

“Es un hotel prácticamente nuevo, inaugurado en noviembre 2018. Por lo que todo es nuevo y muy moderno. Estéticamente es hermoso, muy elegante, las instalaciones son excelentes. Cuenta con 5 piscinas con diferentes propuestas. Tiene un parque acuático muy completo compartido con el Riu de al lado. Los jardines están muy bien cuidados. El bufete es muy bueno. Hay 5 restaurantes temáticos a la carta a los que se accede por demanda espontánea, pero la atención suele ser lenta y deficiente. El más recomendable es el steak house. El bar capucchino es genial para merendar!El servicio y atención del hotel en términos generales es muy bueno. Lo malo fue al llegar, nos recepcionó de mala gana una señorita llamada Lluvia, no nos explicó nada. El staff de entretenimiento es muy bueno, pero los shows nocturnos terminan demasiado temprano. Las habitaciones son amplias, cómodas y lindas; aunque el baño está integrado de manera tal que se vuelve molesta la falta de privacidad para usar la ducha y el inodoro. El gimnasio está ok. El spa es demasiado modesto para un hotel de esta categoría. Al ser huésped Palace, se puede acceder a cualquier Riu, aunque no ofrecen servicio de traslado. Eso es un punto negativo ya que si bien la zona es bella y con muy buena playa, el hotel está desolado y un taxi ida y vuelta a la zona comercial cuesta unos 65 dólares (no llegan los colectivos hasta ahí). Sin embargo, es una zona que promete expandirse en un futuro cercano. El wifi es muybueno. En síntesis, es un muy buen hotel all inclusive, aunque esperaba un poco más de un Riu Palace. Es recomendable para ir en pareja o familia, ya que tiene un estilo bastante formal.”

I loved my stay at this Hotel Riu Resort. My boyfriend and I stayed in one of the swim up pool rooms and absolutely loved the room. Very clean resort, a lot of entertainment and directly on a beautiful beach. We ate at the buffet which was surprisingly great. The Mexican restaurant was also a hit. The only restaurant we did not like was the Italian spot, Romana. I got the lobster ravioli and it was gross, I had to send it back smh. That would literally be my only complaint about my entire stay. The covid test we very easy and we had our results in about 4 or so hours. Transportation through destinations was smooth and everyone on the resort was helpful and friendly. I was impressed on how good the drinks were as well, not like those overly sugar loaded drinks at most all inclusive resorts. I would 100% recommend this resort to anyone visiting Cancun. I would say it would be nice to have a shuttle to take people to the hotel zone. Pay $40 for a cab there and $40 for a cab back was definitely unexpected. But now we know if we want to visit the zone we will stay closer.

A beautiful and very clean resort! There's always staff cleaning around the property. There's a good food variety in the buffet. But the chefs would have to learn how to better cook lobster, duck, steaks and lamb. It's unfortunate that these were overcooked, making the meat too tough to eat. We tried the Japanese and Krystal restaurants. Some dishes were ok, some were good. We appreciate that the chefs tried their best. Our waiter accommodated our request of a special cake to celebrate our friend's birthday. Overall, we all loved our stay.

The Jr suite was very nice, spacious, and relaxing. The different menu choices were amazing. I don’t eat meat so there were plenty of choices for me. Most of the servers were friendly. Front desk staff were great. It was very convenient to get COVID testing prior to leaving. We will be back!

we had stayed for 8 days and 7 days. everything was great. room service and restaurant are really good. The staffs are friendly. our room is clean. the only negative point is 7 min walking distance to reach an elevator for going to the beach and pool if you have a stroller.the main entrance of the beach has only stairs.

Second visit to this resort. My experience during 1st visit 2 years ago was excellent. I thought my 2nd visit will be as good or better than 1st one. I was very wrong. Resort is pretty much at full capacity. As a result we have experienced delays in getting the room cleaned up, so far it happened 3 times. It is so inconvenient when you come back from the beach and have to wait another 30min or longer. Complaining with front desk was no help. Lunch or dinner is a struggle too. With so many people around the staff is not able to keep up with cleaning the tables, replacing clean dishes, adding food, bringing the drinks we order, etc. Selection of drinks is below average. Luckily the weather is good. Overall on a scale of 1-5, where 5 is the highest I give this resort 2.5 - 3.5, no more. I will not come here again even if the price is going to be forgiving.

Hotel fantástico, com estrutura maravilhosa, ALL inclusive com gastronomia Mundial de alta qualidade. Ao lado possui um parque aquático infantil muito completo e um parque aquático adulto com 4 opções de toboágua. Mar de cor inigualável porém a região tem um pouco de algas na areia. A localização do hotel é um pouco distante da zona hoteleira o que encarece o deslocamento para as atrações como o nado com golfinhos ou ao coco bongo.

El personal mas amigable que podrás encontrar incluso con los nacionales, comida y bebidas excepcionales mientras no tengan un problema en recepción esta perfecto, de lo contrario no resolverán nada y solo te pedirán envíes un correo de queja para recibir unas sinceras disculpas.En mi caso se hizo la confirmación del traslado (ya incluido por ser palace) al aeropuerto desde la llegada para no tener problemas y el día que se ocupaba no llegó y no es problema del hotel puesto que es otra empresa aún y cuando la reserva se realiza a través de su app. Solo se sugirió que tomaran un taxi por lo que es importante si vas a este hotel llevar efectivo por si te toca pagar taxi nada barato en la zona.

Amazing was the experience in the RIU , I was really surprised by this hotel, the attentionwas excellent, the facilities are wonderful, the suite was perfect, they thought off all details, from the design of the bathroom to the bathtub in the room, a good closet, a soft bathrobe and a very comfortable bed, the room service at any time is a dream, the restaurants are delicious and have a great variety, the buffet system of entrances its amazing and in the international restaurant you find something for all tastes, I enjoyed each dish and prepared like I wanted with the quantity I wanted, the bars were excellent, the cocktails was a delight, especially the bars that are in the pools and you don’t need to get out of the water, the private beach is a dream and the waiters go and take your drinks to where you are, you feel like a king, they are all very friendly, they have a gym with all you need, the hotel have painting classes and shows at the theater nights, you can also go to fun water slides and go shopping in some stores inside the hotel, definitely one of the best hotels I have visited and the best all inclusive that I have visited

Beautiful beach, good drinks and great service. However the food was not good at all - the only restaurant we kind of liked was the Italian one and I would give it 2/5 stars because we were actually just hungry.Breakfast buffet was not good at all. They don’t offer cocktails at restaurants only canned beer or house wines as opposed to staff walking to the bar for other options. By the pool area they didn’t have music on so all you could hear is a bunch of other people around you playing music on their speaker. We did enjoy our room and the staff did a good job at keeping our drinks full the entire week. Overall we would not return again.

I really enjoyed this resort. Food service areas tended to be very loud because of the architecture. The service around the pool was great. We tended to hang around the south pool, on the corner, overlooking sand dune, 100 yds from the beach. If you are looking for a place, in Cancun, off the main area, highly recommend. If you are looking for something closer to shopping area then find a place on the hotel strip.

Experiencia inolvidable, hicimos viaje en familia y la pasamos de 10 todos, desde la más chiquita(5 años) hasta las mayores. La atención de todo el personal es excelente. Las instalaciones todas muy bien cuidadas. La comida muy rica y variada, los tragos la mayoría buenos con algunas excepciones. Tuvimos problema en el restaurante Roma donde la comida fue servida fría y algunos platos equivocados.

Había muchísima gente para poco personal , no existe una organización para distribuir al personal y la mayoría de ellos le dan prioridad al turismo extranjero , en la cafetería pasamos una hora y media con la mesa sucia y sin recibir atención de nadie .El hotel te vende que te darán un bono de traslado para el aeropuerto y la agencia encargada del servicio nos dejó PLANTADOS , es una falta de respeto estar esperando por una hora , para que simplemente nos digan que nadie vendrá por nosotros que tenemos que pedir un taxi .Si esto lo hubieran comentado desde un principio organizas tu traslado y no andas corriendo para no perder tu vuelo .He visitados varias veces la cadena y nunca me había pasado tener tantos inconvenientes , creo que tendré que perder mi fidelidad con ellos .Sumamente decepcionada .

Excelente hotel! Las instalaciones están muy bien conservadas, casi nuevas, la comida es exquisita y el trato de todo el personal es MARAVILLOSO!! La playa es bellísima y el amanecer se ve espectacular, así que recomiendo levantarse algún día temprano y esperar la salida del sol a orilla de la playa. Estuvimos cuatro días y nos quedamos con ganas de volver, nos encantó.

Our Room / view was amazing. We had the ocean view suite. The Hotel-pools-restaurant-beaches and grounds were very clean and well maintained. The buffet area was great for breakfast and lunch. Dinners were so-so. A few we’re definite skips and a few we’re good but not amazing. To get any good service at dinners or bars you have to tip!

First of all I want to say that for me and my family it was our first time in Cancun and we were delighted with this hotel, all the staff very friendly and willing to help, always with a smile. the food and drinks very good 👌🏼 the water park area special for children and adults. very nice beach with small waves and warm water. Very clean facilities where there is always someone attentive to cleaning. if you are looking for a quiet place to relax without leaving the resort this hotel is for you If you have children and are looking for activities for them, this is also the right place. our family will gladly return in the future. Also let me tell you that you will not find vendors on the beach, or people trying to sell you time shares in the hotel which we were trying to avoid.

Staff are extremely friendly and the resort is beautiful. Having a alcohol dispenser in your room was incredible. They also fully stock your mini fridge everyday with water and pop. The food isn't bad but I would have thought some of the specialty restaurants food would've been better. Sad to say but the buffet food was better except for the Italian restaurant. This resort is not in Cancun but it's only 20 minutes away but you will have to take a taxi for around $50. As far as money you can use dollars which $1 equals to 20 pesos. Please make sure to tip all the hard working people at the resort. Some things that made this resort special to me are they bring you drinks and food to the beach. They have swim up bars and walk up bars at the swimming pools as well as BBQ food during the day. 24 hour room service lounge 24 which is open 24 hours but the food is limited and not the best. They have live shows every night with different themes. All I can say is this is well worth experiencing.

Solo puedo recomendar este hotel, el mobiliario es bueno las instalaciones en buen estado.ro do el hotelmuy limpio, la comida muy buena, el personal muy amable. Lo que más me gustó fue la posibilidad de alargar la salida porque nuestro vuelo era ya muy tarde. La playa es hermosa y hay suficientes camastros. Puedo decir que la playa también es limpiada constantemente por el sargazo, que no me pareció molesto ya que lo he visto también en otras playas y no se le da tanta importancia y no se limpia tanto como aquí.

Very clean. Polite and attentive service. Big variety of food. The only issue we had is the sea. It’s definitely not for a little kids. Waves too big. But a lot of seaweeds make it impossible to enjoy swimming. So, if sea/ocean is important for you this is not your place. Other than that we liked everything

Everything was perfect.The food was good, not great. Everything was clean and in very good condition. It was classy and service was excellent. Service on the beach and poolside was very impressive. You never had to wait for someone to get you a drink.The beach was great with waves to play in. However, any divers out there should know that this is not a resort to go diving. When their website said that they had a dive shop on site, I assumed that they had diving for experienced divers. They do not. It's only for beginners. I went there specifically for diving, so imagine my disappointment when I had to pay $70 round trip cab ride to get to a dive shop. I would recommend this place to anyone. Just not if your a diver.

sinceramente, maravillo, estupendo y fantastico, nos encanto a mi a mi esposa, ya que nos hospedamos en el palace, y desde que entramos a la recepcion la atencion es maravillosa, al instalarnos en nuestra habitacion todo limpio y perfecto, nos hubiera gustado tener la vista al mar pero nos toco jardin, pero al final las instalaciones, las albercas y la playa del uno, los alimentos del uno, sinceramente quedamos satisfechos con nuestra estadia en RIU , lo recomiendo, vale la pena el gasto, saludos y felicitaciones.

This is an amazing hotel, its exactly what you expect from a Riu palace. The only downside is it far away from Cancun. It was around $80 dollars for taxi to Cancun. Its another $80 to get back to the hotel. I visited April 2019

This is an ok resort, not great but about an average. It’s new as it just opened up in 2018, but maybe that’s why it still lack some things.At one time the whole resort was out of water for a few hours.Food. 2/5.Buffet was pretty descent, besides that everything else was bad or mediocre.For some reason it was extremely hard to find strawberries at this resort.Restaurants were pretty bad. Tried all of them and none and there wasn’t a single one that I wanted to go back to.Which is surprising b/c RIU usually has good restaurants.Beach 5/5.Clean beach with palm trees on the beach.Service 4/5. Service was good. House keeping did a fantastic job, as did all the bar tenders, and waiter. 1 point off for room service, calling them was nearly pointless as they take an hour or longer or forget half the stuff you order.Entertainment 2/5.They should hire a group of people to host activities, etc. like in other resorts. The ones the have now were non-existent during the day. Also, it rained for a few days and there is zero activities planned for when it rains.

Nuestra estancia fue muy agradable, todo el personal muy amable como siempre en los Hoteles RIU.La limpieza de la habitación todos los días fue excelente.En cuestión de los restaurantes y la comida recomiendo el restaurante Italiano así como el Space para desayunar.Lo único que si hay que considerar es que esta mas o menos a 40 min. de distancia del aeropuerto, pero vale mucho la pena.

Our first all-inclusive. Amazing staff: Linguini at the bar is a mad man mixologist. Incredible beach and a lot to walk with views of Isla Mujeres and Cancun.We got a swim-up suite (do it). Wonderful service. Our minibar was stocked every day. Food is amazing. Fresh. Delicious wines from Italy. Mexican cervesas. We will be back. Go to Tulum, Chichen Itza, Ek Balam, and Coba. Easy day trips from the resort and you can still climb Coba and Ek Balam.

Overall Riu was exceptional.The staff was absolutely top notch. The facilities are immaculate and beautiful.The beach is wonderful.A lot of people rave about the food we thought it was so so. The AC in the rooms doesn't quite keep it cool enough. The toilet does not have a vent fan. Other than the couple minor inconveniences (which are totally livable) I highly recommend Riu. I'll be back for sure!

Our first time in Cancun. This place was great. Everything the was always clean. The food was always fantastic. The proximity to the ocean was perfect. Pools were spotless. Patio side drink were excellent. If you have kids, they have a splash park next door. You will also be able to find good kids food at the buffet every day. The place is very secure and has great activities every day and a nice night life as well. If your going to do excursions, this place is quite a ways away from them. They will get you there and back, but it's a ride. We would definitely go back to this resort.

Incredible all-inclusive resort for adults and for families. With numerous daily activities planned for children and adults, there is always something to do. Not to mention that there is a great water park next door that all hotel guests get access to. The beach is close and there were plenty of chairs, even for a group of 7 in February. The weather was excellent, hovering between 75 and 85 degrees F and the water was refreshing. There was some seaweed on the beach and in the surf that may bother some people but we had no qualms. The rooms were clean and spacious. Lastly, the food was delicious. I am typically not a fan of buffets but the breakfast and lunch buffets were excellent. Tons of options and many exceeded my expectations. The dinner options were also good but surprisingly, the buffets stole the show. I highly recommend if looking for resort options on the North side of Cancun.

The rooms was great. JR suite, large, spacious, well-appointed, clean. Great balcony. Freestanding tub (not jetted).The mattress was not very comfortable. It was a bit lumpy.The food was phenomenal across the board. There is a lot of basic food, American food, etc but once you venture out it was really very good. I had Nigiri, and authentic Mexican with fresh grilled fish all in 1 meal at the buffet.Don't miss Friday nights buffet. Whole new level.It is an all inclusive of course and that really comes in handy for food, drinks, even having a mini fridge full of beverages in the room is great.The spa was good. We had massages on the beach. Highly recommended. About $100 each person but you can negotiate down to $85 each for a couple (50 minutes). They were running a half hour late which was a bummer.The gift shop is nice but spendy. The Cuban cigars are real in case you are wondering. They are a bit spendy though.Good wifi throughout. Decent drinks (the Theater bar is the only one with Legit Scotch just fyi.Overall had a great experience.

This was our first time in Cancun, and first time at a Riu property.It was absolutely amazing.The property was so well kept, the beach was great, the swim up bars were quick and courteous, and our room (the one with the private pool) was awesome.I will say one negative was that it seemed like they didn’t turn on the bedroom air conditioning during the winter months.We lowered the thermostat as far as possible, but the room temp never changed.

I have to say the place is absolutely beautiful. Each and every staff member was wonderful. They were very helpful and spoke to you everytime they saw you. The only reason I give it a three star,is because thefood was absolutely horrible.I mean most nights it made my husband and I sick.Think of the worse buffet you have ever been to than,think how could it be worse.The drinks and entertainment was great.

This is amazing resort. Extremely clean, impeachable service, rooms are very clean, slip free floors. The food:to say that buffet was shocking is to say nothing. I made a movie.Seafood assortment includes Lobsters, calamaris, shrimps,5-6 types of fish, octopus, mussels, sushi including sushimi and nigiry together with rack of lamb, prime rib and ramp roast and etc. as a main coarse. Everything so delisious! Restaurants are minor there.The beach is beautiful, no stones and weed. It is always enough chairs there and in the pool. It was windy but 1 day and I do not know if it is due to location or just weather.Drink waiters are everywhere. Entertainment is very good and not annoying.The 2 shows we especially liked: Retro rock band show and Viva show.I have to look for cons: Not enough toilets and garbage containers. My husband was disappointed with Health Club. I would give 3 stars for this 2.

Es un hotel prácticamente nuevo, inaugurado en noviembre 2018. Por lo que todo es nuevo y muy moderno. Estéticamente es hermoso, muy elegante, las instalaciones son excelentes. Cuenta con 5 piscinas con diferentes propuestas. Tiene un parque acuático muy completo compartido con el Riu de al lado. Los jardines están muy bien cuidados. El bufete es muy bueno. Hay 5 restaurantes temáticos a la carta a los que se accede por demanda espontánea, pero la atención suele ser lenta y deficiente. El más recomendable es el steak house. El bar capucchino es genial para merendar!El servicio y atención del hotel en términos generales es muy bueno. Lo malo fue al llegar, nos recepcionó de mala gana una señorita llamada Lluvia, no nos explicó nada. El staff de entretenimiento es muy bueno, pero los shows nocturnos terminan demasiado temprano. Las habitaciones son amplias, cómodas y lindas; aunque el baño está integrado de manera tal que se vuelve molesta la falta de privacidad para usar la ducha y el inodoro. El gimnasio está ok. El spa es demasiado modesto para un hotel de esta categoría. Al ser huésped Palace, se puede acceder a cualquier Riu, aunque no ofrecen servicio de traslado. Eso es un punto negativo ya que si bien la zona es bella y con muy buena playa, el hotel está desolado y un taxi ida y vuelta a la zona comercial cuesta unos 65 dólares (no llegan los colectivos hasta ahí). Sin embargo, es una zona que promete expandirse en un futuro cercano. El wifi es muybueno. En síntesis, es un muy buen hotel all inclusive, aunque esperaba un poco más de un Riu Palace. Es recomendable para ir en pareja o familia, ya que tiene un estilo bastante formal.

Fire time here. The grounds are beautiful and massive, the food options are perfect and drinks keep pouring. I loved the activities and gift shop, they didn’t drop the ball on that. I tried all of the restaurants but I was totally pleased with the buffet. My only issue was (wait for it) the toilet flushes. I don’t like the top bottom flushes, these were hard to push and they just gross me out in general. All in all, it’s a great place with family or not and they have this huge water park if it’s a trip with the kids. As an adult only trip this time, we didn’t feel burdened with the families that had little ones. There is enough to keep the kiddies happy and the space is laid out well for everyone to have a good time. Kinda wish we had brought the little one. They had the bit boxing match so therefore the hubby was in heaven.They could tighten up on their problem-solving customer service. Every time there was a question presented that the rep or employee didn’t know, they surely didn’t try to find out either.

Estuve tres días y el hotel me pareció muy bueno. Sin embargo, me sentí decepcionada porque la habitación "vista al mar" que reservé está ubicada relativamente más lejos que las demás. El mar que se ve es una pequeña franja azul detrás de los edificios blancos de los restaurantes. Aunque en el sitio web aparece como una opción mejor para la habitación estándar o para la vista lateral al mar, a mí me pareció peor. Si en las opciones hubiera aparecido una descripción más clara, o si hubiera aparecido entre mis opciones de reserva otra habitación "vista frontal", quizás me hubiera dado cuenta de la diferente perspectiva que tenemos el hotel y yo sobre cuál es el significado de "vista al mar".

El lugar es espectacular. Desde que te recibe el personal es muy amable, las habitaciones limpias en todo momento. El equipo de animación, magnífico, el spa una maravilla, lo que resto puntos, es que el personal del área de bar, que se encuentra en la alberca con comida, no atiende con amabilidad y atiende primero a extranjeros que hablan inglés 🙄Sin embargó, quiero regresar lo más pronto posible.

El hotel Riu Palace Costa Mujeres tiene 14 meses de inaugurado, todo muy modernoso, pero demasiado cuadrado, parece como un hotel de ciudad, no con la vegetación que uno espera para el Caribe. La plaza central preciosa, todo muy cuidado y limpio.Muy buen buffet superior a la oferta de los restaurantes temáticos. Estos eran muy raros con buffet dentro, con muchas opciones pero de baja calidad.Nos pareció un hotel destinado para adultos, pero con pocas opciones para niños pequeños y nulas para bebés. No cuentan con pisicina separada para niños. Hay una con toboganes que está en el Riu Dunamar que si podés utilizarpero es para mayores de 1.20 mts de altura. No tienen guardavidas en todas las piscinas.El Kids club está bien, aunque tiene un horario muy acotado, cierra en la franja en el que el sol está muy fuerte y el personal no nos pareció contar con la experiencia suficiente.Staff correcto y punto. No esperes cordialidad y amabilidad general en este lugar. Una excepción fue un empleado del Buffet que siempre fue adorable con nostros.Los shows nocturnos son flojos salvo el Mexicano que fue muy, muy lindo. Les falta producción, esto toma ingerencia al estar alejados de todo y no tener otras opciones para hacer. A las 21.30 hs cierran todos los restaurantes (buffet a las 22 hs) y luego no tenés nada más para hacer.Paso a contar el lamentable hecho que sufrimos con mi familia respecto al humo del cigarrillo y sus efectos perjudiciales para la salud. En la zona de reposeras frente al hotel, que dan a la playa, los demás huéspedes fuman sin reparo. NO hay zonas destinadas para los fumadores y no fumadores.Cuando fui por primera vez a presentar la inquietud frente a un guardavidas que se encontraba en el lugar, escuché modular por radio al "Gerente General" del hotel que en tono despectivo le sugirió al guardavidas que no me queje que no se podía hacer nada, me sugirieron que nos desplazáramos a uno de los extremos del complejo que había menos gente porque era temporada de "ocupación baja". Aquí también había gente fumando. No tienen señalado y separadas las áreas para fumadores y no fumadores como establece la Ley. No fue hasta que envié un mail notificándoles mis inteciones de denunciarlos ante el Gobierno de México y/o Organismos Internacionales que me tomaron en serio y "me ofrecieron" una solución transitoria y no del todo efectiva. La misma fue que en una sola oportunidad despojaron de reposeras la zona de nuestra posición. Pero, a pesar de habernos ido a un extremo del complejo, lejos de todos, unos vendedores ambulantes se pusieron a fumar marihuana cerca nuestro.Dentro de lo que la ley estipula mexicana, las zonas de acceso a un espacio público, tiene que ser libres de humo. La zona de palmeras y reposeras está bajo la conceción del Hotel por lo que deben ser libres de humo, o en su defecto estipular las zonas libres de tal.Definitivamente no está pensado para la familia y gente no fumadora, una lástima. Esto a mi me molestó bastante, sobre todo la actitud del Gerente, porque sentí que vulneraban mis derechos y los de mi familia. No pude concretar el objetivo de mis vacaciones: disfrutar y relajarme. Una VERGÜENZA. Espero que esta crítica sirva para que mejoren.

First of all, this resort is such a beauty, the garden in the middle is maintained each day and the staffs here follow strict restriction and is really respectful toward everyone. If you choosed this place, you are on the path for a good vacation.The only cons;*A lot of mosquitoes (one just bits me twice while I wrote this review so make sure to bring a anti mosquitoes spray)*Really but REALLY slippery flooring in this resort. So when you see a yellow sign or water, slow down*Foods here are good and fresh but don't take any risks eating raw lobster or fish*In addition, desserts here are not super delicious, don't expect any fine cuisine.That's all, enjoy your vacation!

The food itself was just ok though. My travel agent mentioned I was celebrating a birthday so my room was decorated & they left me a bottle of champagne & chocolates. I had a great time!

All the rumors are true... everything you read on these reviews are accurate. That said this place is awesome! The hotel and the rooms are beautiful, modern, and clean. There is more staff working here than guests. Literally anything you need if it’s within their capabilities they will do for you. It’s incredible!The pools are amazing, staff is great, don’t miss out on the water polo it’s so much fun!!!!

Great new hotel north of the hotel zone. Have been 2x now since the opening a year or so ago, and whatever hiccups they had at the grand opening have been ironed out. Service is just like the other Riu Palaces, food quality very much the same from our other Riu Palace visits. Beach is the big draw here — great sand and lots of shoreline. Didn’t seem crowded at all during either of our 2019 vacations here. Our boys really love the coffee bar area with their milkshakes...outstanding. Nothing but good things to say about this Riu. Highly recommended if you want a truly 4.5 star all-inclusive vacay in Cancun.

We went to the Riu Palace Costa Mujeres the week before Christmas 2019. The resort was about 45-50 min from the airport. Our first impression of the resort was the impeccable cleanliness. The gardens, the beach, pool areas, and rooms were very well maintained as this resort is very new and were spotless. I have never seen an all-inclusive this well maintained. The beach was beautiful with a low amount to no seaweed washed up onto the shore.Staff was very accommodating to our every need and very friendly, especially the entertainment, buffet, and pool side staff. Johnny from the entertainment staff and several other were very welcoming and made you feel at home. Jerry constantly was bringing us drinks nonstop to our pool side benches whenever we needed and it was a pleasure to meet them all. Attended a foam party which occurs every Tuesday and it one of the main highlights of the trip. I do not recommend the foam party for children under 15 since it can be overwhelming for them and harder to swim but for everyone else it was a blast. Several entertainment activities such as bingo, water polo, beach volleyball, and more were provided to anyone who wanted to participate. The gym was small but provided all the necessary equipment and had a great view of the beach and pools.The buffet was diverse with several options. The chefs would accommodate special meals for one of my family members who is vegetarian and would make personal pizzas and pastas from scratch when requested. Pepe’s Food (a grill restaurant) by the beach included a bar and provided tasty food everyday in a convenient central location.The location of the resort was ideal for a relaxing, yet entertaining vacation. Currently there are no surrounding resorts besides the neighboring adjoined Riu, however construction of new resorts along the beach strip are up and coming in the future years. Rooms were cleaned thoroughly with some rooms have personal swim out pools. The waterpark is great fun for kids and even adults with some slides being quite fast as well as no long line ups present.Of course, there are some criticisms and improvements that I would suggest. The dining restaurants were ok but not outstanding for the most part. The Mexican and Italian restaurants I’d say were the best of the 5 restaurants but we did not really enjoy the Japanese place since the service was very slow and the food got cold by the time we got any help. For the spa, the jacuzzi should have been much warmer rather than it just being a slightly heated pool with moderately warm water. We used the steam room almost everyday but one of the hot vents is right under one of the sitting areas which should be moved to the top to avoid people burning themselves accidentally. The nightly shows were very entertaining, with the ABBA, Rock, and Michael Jackson shows being the favorites. However, I found the shows staring at 9pm to be too early since we would sometimes be late due to dinner. I recommend they start the shows at 10pm instead to resolve this issue. Finally, the tiles at the resort were very slippery due to rain so be careful while walking around since we did have a few of us slip.This is the best Riu resort we have been to and the lounges and bars were very large and open at night with a variety of drinks/cocktails/liquors on the menu. Also, there is a night club for people 18+ on the next door adjoined Riu resort for those who are looking for that. Overall I recommend this resort since we all had a great time and would look at coming back in the future!

Desde que llegas al lobby te reciben con cordialidad, el hotel cuenta con diversos restaurante de especialidades que están incluidos, no dejes de visitar "Capuchino" hacen un capuchino delicioso, las malteadas de igual manera son una delicia, los pastelitos, rompe la dieta bien vale la pena😉las habitaciones son nuevas sin ninguna falla, el ambiente es familiar. Pero también cuenta con la disco "Pacha" donde te podrás divertir cada noche😀🍺🍹cuenta con 5 albercas no climatizadas, pero siempre están en óptimas condiciones.

Todo nuevo, habitaciones amplias modernas y luminosas (recomiendo las del 4 piso vista lateral al mar, no llegan mosquitos y una vista increible hacia Cancún del amanecer y atardecer) Personal muy atento. Variedad de opciones en las comidas y de buena calidad, alternativas de bebidas y actividades dentro del resort. Al estar retirado de las zonas hoteleras tiene la playa super tranquila.Para ir a la ciudad y shoppings de Cancún es recomendable alquilar un auto ya que en relación a los costos de taxis es más conveniente. No hay uber, es una zona donde no cubre la aplicación, y por eso los costos de taxis son elevados. Ideal para descansar y desenchufarse. Fuimos en pareja fines nov pcipio de diciembre 2019. RECOMENDABLE!

Un hotel súper lujoso, excelente servicio por parte de los empleados, instalaciones muy bonitas, buffets de todo tipo, una playa hermosa aunque con poco sargazo, la construcción es en forma horizontal para no afectar el ecosistema y se paga una cuota de saneamiento, animadores siempre prendiendo el ambiente, bebidas muy bien preparadas en todo el día... Es excelente.

Hotel was extremely clean staff was very friendly and helpful when asked any questions. This hotel was also very safe at night for walking around if you may need to take a nice stroll. Definitely a place I’ll recommend to anybody that’s looking for a place to stay. Also they included top shelf liquor in they package which is always a plus for anybody that’s looking to party.

Went to Riu Palace Costa Mujeres one week in October 2019. It was definitely was not enough. I'm used to travel, and I had never seen an All-Inclusive perfect on every look. The food, the staff, the activities, the cleanliness...The buffet was diversified and tasty every meal, every day. Public places were constantly clean. Staff was always smiling and helpful.I obviously recommend this place! Enjoy!

Muy buen hotel en general. Bastante grande, limpio, con un diseño moderno y una buena variedad de restaurantes (La comida es excelente). Todo el personal del hotel muy amable y servicial.El área de la playa, albercas y jardínes es muy amplia, con paisajes lindos por todos lados.La ventaja es que al hospedarse aquí le permiten a los huéspedes del Riu Palace el pasar al hotel Riu Dunamar (que está a un lado) para utilizar el parque acuático durante el día y el club nocturno por la noche.

Instalaciones bonitas, siempre limpias, en perfecto estado, alimentos y bebidas de calidad, muchos espacios donde estar durante todo el día, albercas, restaurantes, bares, snacks, buffett, personal atento, quizás no suficiente para todos los visitantes sobre todo servicio de bar en albercas y playa, espacios donde estar a media noche, o de madrugada, habitaciones amplias, limpias, la electricidad se actividad insertando la tarjeta de la habitación en una ranura, wifi para máximo 6 dispositivos simultáneamente, te dan usuario y contraseña para registrar y activarlo.Por disposición oficial solicitan un cobro por mantenimiento de playas, por noche por habitación pagado al momento de registro. Por la noche suele haber personal disfrazado ((piratas, etc)) o con accesorios para tomarte fotos con ellos.Restaurantes japonés, mexicanos, italiano, gourmet, etc, con comida a la carta sin necesidad de previa reservación.En cenas buffet hay variedad de alimentos, algunos platillos se repiten cada noche, ciertas noches a la semana ofrecen steack house con cortes de carne, langosta, entradas, postres, etc. Que te atiendan al cenar Alex y Yenni es una maravilla el servicio. Los mejores mojitos del Riu Palace los prepara el Sr. Arturo generalmente en el turno de tarde noche en los bares de la oficina o el bar 24 horas Totalmente recomendable

Hotel sumamente moderno, completa las necesidades de cualquiera. Todo el personal es de primera. Excelente servicio. Hay mucha gente pero las opciones son tantas que nunca es necesario hacer cola, no hay tumultos. Piscinas espectaculares y la playa un paraíso. Reposeras bajo palmeras a unos metros del agua. Hermoso lugar. La gente que trabaja allí linda, amable y eficienteInstalaciones muy completas y confortables. Nos sentimos muu a gusto.Creo que el factor a mejorar urgente es la atención medica que es muy costosa, al menos para el cambio argentino, en situaciones simples en las que no se justifica hacer todo el tramite de la asistencia al viajero.También tuvimos inconvenientes con a adquisición de los usuarios de wifi ya que la administración del.hotel solo habia asentado 2 de 6 reservas, debería ser menos engorroso el.sistema para evitar perdidas de tiempo.

It is hard to find the words to describe how absolutely perfect and outstanding this hotel is... From the beautifully presented and cultured food selection, to the exquisite decor, to the incredible people, this resort exemplifies a true luxury resort. I was so overwhelmed by the quality of service and amenities. The beaches are something out of a movie, crystal blue water and impeccably white beaches. Clean, modern, and new infrastructure made me feel as though I was living in Elysium. The staff were outstanding, friendly and genuinely warm and easy-talk-to people. During our stay, I can say that we made friendships with the RIU Fun team and got to hear so many interesting stories.I personally vouch that you will not be disappointed with this resort. I hope everyone can appreciate the pristine conditions and amenities.I absolutely cannot wait to come back and will be sharing my experience with everyone I know. Outstanding work on making my vacation the most memorable one yet.

This is a very new resort and as such has a long way to go to become a primer RIU location.Our room was very nice, it overlooked the ocean, unfortunately it also overlooked the band stage, which meant a continuous stream of noise from practicing acts to make shift offices, which absolutely overtook the serenity we were hoping for.This is a 3 star location at best for now.To me, the resort is struggling for what it is.We were told by the travel agent that this would not be a spring break party location.They were right that there were not many teens...in fact he hotel was at under 50% capacity.That didn't stop the staff from blasting very loud music throughout every afternoon and acting like a spring break party location.If you are looking for restart relaxation, look elsewhere.The staff are mostly pleasant and try very hard to understand, however very few spoke English including room service.As an example, I ordered a toast and a ham sandwich from the spare menu.They said 10 minutes, the order arrived in 45 minutes and contained 4 plates of frozen toasties/tacos and no ham sandwich.I sent the toasties back and they delivered the ham sandwich quickly.The food overall was terrible.We were stopped by exiting travelers and warned not to try the restaurants...they were correct. The food in the restaurants looked like someone went to the buffet and grabbed a plate for you...very, very disappointing.They did serve good drinks and the bar staff was very pleasant.The wine selection was better at the buffet than the restaurants.The pools werevery nice, the facilities were very clean.Be ready to stay on the resort as this was such a long way out.Unfortunately, I got very sick as did many folks...not sure the cause as we stayed clear if the water, suspect the food but don't know for sure.In time I'm sure the resort will get better, but for now my recommendation is to try somewhere else.

We've only been here a day so far and I'm in love with this place. The staff are attentive and ready to help. The food is very good and the grounds and beach are gorgeous. I'll update this more after we finish our trip.UPDATE: The planned activities each day were a great way to keep busy if you were looking for things to do. They were scheduled out in such a way that they never overlapped so you could attend them all if you wanted.We tried all but the Japanese restaurant and the food at each one was fantastic. Several of the restaurants have buffet and menu options.The gift shop is open late which was helpful for grabbing anything necessary that we forgot to pack. Prices were marked in USD and pesos.The beach is well groomed each day and there are plenty of palm trees and lounge chairs for shade when needed.The beds were a little soft for my liking, but that's more of a personal preference.I would definitely come back if we visit Cancun again.

The best all inclusive hotel we've ever stayed in. The facilities are beautiful and kept immaculately clean. Every single employee has been friendly and helpful from the gardeners to the front desk clerks.There are several restaurants to choose from and all have excellent food.The beach is beautiful and well kept and the swimming pools are fabulous.We will definitely be visiting here again and highly recommend it

Very nice newer resort with great staff. Always felt like they treated us well & took care of our needs. Good food options with the large buffet and other fancier restaurant options on a first come first served basis. This was much better than some resorts that restrict what days you can go to certain restaurants. We traveled with our two young kids as well so having the kids club that we could take them to for their own activities was great. This allowed us to have some adult fun time during the day as well. We dropped them off after breakfast some days & get the kids mid day for family time to eat or play on the beach/pool/water park. Beach was nice. Kids loved playing in the ocean and the sand. Pools were fun as well. The water park was great for the kids side safe and lots of fun options. They have the larger water park for kids who are 48" tall & up to adult. We enjoyed both of them!

Everything was perfect..very, very clean rooms & grounds. Staff was wonderful...especially Luis & Jose at the pool area. There was a variety of food and very attentive staff. We traveled with our family of 6..ages 14 to 72 and there was something for everyone. Felt save and comfortable. Very nice evening shows and activities.We really enjoyed the Michael Jackson tribute, foam party and Riu party. The spa was very nice and good prices.A favorite for all was the Coffee shop and George...very sweet guy. We will definitely visit again or visit another Riu resort.

My husband and I went on vacation with friends at the Riu Palace Costa Mujeres this past week.We found the hotel to be phenomenal. The staff was friendly, the rooms are beautiful and the grounds are exceptional. However, we were not impressed with the food and we were bothered that kids were in the adult pool with the swim up bar. We were told this was an adult resort... that was our only problem.

Exceptional! Everything is excellent: reception great, very clean, beautiful views and designs. Excellent food and huge variety of food, desserts and drinks: Japanese , seafood, American, Mexican, Italian, French . Amazing and polite staff, many activities to do at day time and night timefor adults and kids. The definition of paradise is here: calming, beautiful, relaxing. The beauty and the excellence of this resort in person is beyond words. Love being here celebrating our anniversary, my wife is very picky and when she says excellent is because beyond exception.

We've just returned from this hotel and had a wonderful time. Having stayed in several 5* hotels in Mexico, it is definitely up to standard.It seemed pretty quiet and there was never a problem getting a sunbed or tables in restaurants.It's out of the way, north of Cancun so it's not in a good location if you are wanting to visit attractions such as Xel-ha or Tulum, but it was very peaceful and relaxing.The staff speak English fine. I am English and never had a problem with conversation.The rooms are modern, bright and clean but suited to couples as the bath is in the room and the shower and sink area are open too.The pool waiters are excellent, continuously walking around with orders.The buffet restaurant had a massive range, with Mexican, Italian, Oriental, American & English every night. The only thing I would like to see different, is a pasta station for freshly cooked pasta as it could sometimes be a bit cold/stodgy. The desserts were also a good selection, there was also chocolate fountains at dinner.The pools were spread out nice, we stuck to the largest one as it was the most relaxing/not many children.The drinks were great and included top brands.We went to the Italian and Steakhouse speciality restaurants. The Steakhouse served tasty lobster and the Italian had a quieter ambiance and great food. The only critism I have of the entire holiday is that I would like to see a vegetarian option at all of the speciality restaurants.The coffee bar was lovely and did amazing iced coffees and chocolate brownie desserts.There was food available all the time. We only used the 24hr Lounge on arrival & departure days, but it was nice to have.Overall, I would definitely recommend the Riu Palace Costa Mujeres.

Although beautiful, we will not be coming back to this resort. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Our room view was amazing! The food was mediocre. The room service menu was absolutely terrible. They close the pools super early. A lot of the guests let their children just splash away into others' drinks in the pools with the swim up bars. Our bathtub was filthy from the time that we arrived, and was never cleaned. Our view really saved this trip.

I’d like to thank Franco at the buffet for being an amazing waiter. He went above and beyond for us every morning and was very attentive. He always made sure we had everything we needed and were happy with everything. He even set up a special table for us on our last day before we even got there. If you’re staying at the hotel, make sure you sit in his area at the buffet!

Very new property, but in a very remote area about 30 minutes North West of Cancun.As of this time there is nothing to do nearby.There are a lot of new resorts under construction in the area which adds time to the drive to get there. The property itself is very nice and clean. All the staff I interacted with were helpful and pleasant. The food served in the restaurants was very good, and there was a variety to choose from.There were several pools to choose from, as well as the beach that was well maintained and clean.Water sports were available next door at the Dunamar as well as the water park.Very quiet resort at night, and there was never a wait to eat in any of the restaurants.The lobby cafe was open 24hrs a day which was very nice to have for a late night snack.If you are looking for a quiet resort and don't need a lot of things to do, this might be the place for you.

Great experience! I would definitely come back to Riu Palace Costa Mujeres. The service provided by all was great however the following people were exceptional during our stay: Adrian in the breakfast buffet, Cande and Edilberto in the beach area (best beach servers hands down), Cupertino in the piano bar, Yair from the Kristal restaurant, and Aide from the Riu Dunamar bar lounge. These people went above and beyond everyday to ensure we were having the best time on our vacation. The food was delicious in the buffet, Roma (Italian restaurant), Zarape (Mexican restaurant), and Kristal. I personally did not care too much for the Japan restaurant. There is plenty of shade at the pool and beach so there is no need to wake up early in the morning to "reserve" a spot with a towel. The spa allows you to use the sauna and hydro massage pools once a day (free of charge) but you have to go to the spa to confirm and make reservations (daily). Also, the gym is very small (for those who care). The last thing I'd like to mention is the room was very spacious and had a pullout couch. Also, the TV came with about 70 channels that included Cinemax, Fox sports, and nick jr. Again, thank you to Riu and the staff for a great vacation!

Started with the many nightly fire alarms. Body fluid stained beds and washroom. Nice touch with the bath tub in the room, but absolutely no way to keep anything private from the rest of the room.Beach looks good, but a lot of it got swallowed by the sea during our stay. Dead fish-heads washed on the nearby beach. Lots of seaweed at times.

Horrible room cleaning service. Hotel hallway,elevators, stairs are filthy and they don't give a dam! Pictures are from today but it's been like this for 5 days... Have to fight to get rooms cleaned. Cant get in restaurants after 6h30 pm.. 2 hours waiting time. Not enough staff around pool area. 2 bathrooms in pool area and only one BBQso long wait and super gross and filthy. Only good side is service by waiters but so under staffed that they are always running. Been complaining to head management and they don't really care or make it better! Don't book if you want a 5 star cause it's like a 3 star.

This is a new resort operated by the Riu chain. The staff made the difference by being helpful, courteous and going the extra mile to make your visit a pleasurable one. The suites and facilities are what you expect from a five star hotel. The dining experience was great. The buffet restaurant offered lobsters, salmon and other kinds of seafood, made in a variety of ways. For gourmet coffee drinkers, the Capuchino lounge is the place to be. Other fine dining restaurants offer Japanese, Mexican and European cuisines. Eat what you like and enjoy made to order food. The fine sand beaches and constant breeze provided the right combination for sun seekers. A three hour side trip to the Mayan pyramid and ruins was well worth it. But watch out for tourist traps and so called guides who demand tips. Remember, all your hard earned money went into this all inclusive booking. The reported violence among rival gangs had obviously spooked tourists and few ventured outside the resort to admire the Mexican houses and surroundings. There were heavily armed police everywhere. The road to the Chichen Itza pyramid is a straight highway, probably built for tourists, with jungles on both sides. Our guide told us that there were no animals, no fruit or flowering trees and the Mayans were forced to grow crops to sustain themselves. Yes, there are descendants of the ancient Mayans in the area who rely on income from tourists. Remember to go with licensed archaeologist to learn more about the Mayans and their astonishing knowledge of science, architecture and trigonometry. Clap your hands in front of the pyramid and you will hear the sound of calling birds.Your clapping sound travels through tiny pores in the stone structure and returns differently as echoes. The mystsicm and lore of the Mayans make this side trip memorable.

The Location is in a new development area so it’s more private and away from the masses. The facility, grounds and structure is as good as it gets in commercialized Mexico resorts. The food and restaurants are amazing. Service and staff were polite, hard working and attentive. The beach is only a few steps from where you sleep. How they have the palm trees planted and two lawn chairs/table per tree is perfect. Sand is as soft as it gets.An all inclusive resort experience does not get much better than this. For anyone who regularly travels to all inclusive stays. The Riu Palace Costa Mujeres is a must try.

For the same money you can get a 7 day carribean cruise which probably get you more satisfaction. Resort is to far away for any ad hoc get aways. Restaurants look nice but food at the buffet tastes better. The room is open floor plan so be aware if you bring a teenager with you as the is no privacy coming out of the shower. Bathtub in the open room makes it unusable when with teenagers. Bathroom sounds are heard in the room, not recommended for new couples LOL. Beds a twin o similar, hard and only a good fit for skinny people. Swim up pool is the best feature of this resort. It measures 3 x4 meters and is nice to relax.

We've been to four different Riu Palace properties and several Riu's prior to visiting Riu Palace Costa Mujeres. We stayed in two rooms during Christmas and New Year's holidays. The main thing that came to mind and stayed with us during our 14-day stay was "RIU PALACE ON A BUDGET" What they have instead of a lobby bar doesn’t qualify as a 24hr bar but a place to get self-dispensed alcohol and eat something. "Slippery when wet" floor tiles caving in and cracking in the corners. Everything is brand new and the resort is going through its normal growing pains period.If you ask for something they will try and rectify your complaint quickly.The worst part is housekeeping. (WE TIP!) Twice they didn't service both our rooms at all. The floors were constantly left dirty, coffee makers were not cleaned, cups were not washed, mirrors and toilets were left dirty. Trash cans weren’t always emptied. The list is long, including random removal of bathrobes, random number/size towels, toiletries. If you are picky, bring your own shampoo,they have a very frugal all-in-one dispenser, shampoo/shower gel.No garbage bags- and it shows! Since housekeeping didn't clean anything anyways, the rooms started looking pretty disgusting by day 14. I don't think they visited the balcony at all. We had crumpled Kleenex on the floor (which I used to clean the very dirty drying rack with) for two days until it got blown away onto the roof below. No dusting at all.Vegetation is scarce, it will get there eventually but it looks pretty barren.The Wi-Fi covers the entire resortexcluding some areas. It's not extremely fast but it works. It doesn't work in Riu dunamar.The waterpark feature is great and lots of fun, super fun for kids and adults if you like that kind of thing. However, the floor tiles there are extremely slippery so be very, very careful! It looks like another one of their budget designs,the same gray floor tiles throughout both resorts and the waterpark.The pool swim-up bar is disgusting. One day the water was so murky that you couldn't see the bottom. It doesn't seem like a deterring factor since both drunk adults and little kids in their diapers are equally enjoying themselves in there. Shortage of washrooms in the beach and pool area doesn't help much.Many employees don't speak a word of English.Calling reception is a gamble. Sometimes there is a busy signal, sometimes there is no dial tone or no one picks up.24 hr room service is the same thing. Unfortunately, your order may come with complete disregard for what you've actually ordered after an hour of waiting. Ask them to repeat your order.The gym is basic and not any better than the neighbouring Riu Dunamar.No sauna/steam room- in Dunamar there is a steam room which is free but needs to be pre-booked.No pool table/games, darts, or sports bar of any kind. You can go to Riu Dunamar and pay $3 US per game of pool. Tip: it's 40 pesos in coins which will cost $3 US. Crooked pool cues, stained cloth and no lighting. Three pool tables is all they have there and nothing else.No fruit (at all!) at the beach bar, long lines for finger food/burgers.Only one working elevator- the second one had worked for a total of 2 days in a total of 14 days.Good selection of HDTV channels.Variety and quality of food is very good for an all inclusive.Food preparation can be very good depending on who's cooking. Good variety at the sushi bar.A la carte restaurants are not worth waiting for an hour, in my opinion. Service is slow.Some waiters are trained, helpful, and nice, and some will disregard you completely. It looks like some of them were transferred from resorts where poor service is normal.Both Christmas and New Year's dinners were excellent, included photos of food are from these nights.They need better-trained staff and to improve the cleanliness of the hotel.We would go to another Riu Palace, but would not come back to this one.

Spectacular can't wait to go back. This place is CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN!!! The accommodations were great, the House Keeping Team was awsome. The food was simply amazing. All the theme restaurants were great. The quality of the food was always fresh, well prepared, well flavored and, well presented.Regina & Abraham from the Buffet were FANTASTIC!!! They demonstrated such attention to detail from the table settings to the personalized daily service. We were amazed at their level of service. She would make an amazing onboarding training Supervisor for all new employees. Not everyone has Regina's level of commitment to customer service. Abraham was always at the ready and and he and Regina worked with perfect synergy.Edilberto down by the pool bar was just AWESOME!!! What a great young man. He was 100% trustworthy and so attentive to everyone's needs. He knew exactly what everyone was drinking and was very gracious to interact with. He always has a GREAT smile on his face.Danny, Kevin &, Niko in the Photo Shop were all very talented, professional and, friendly. They all made our photo shoots a lot of fun. We came home with really amazing photos.Up at the Steakhouse we had great service from Salatel & Dennis on separate nights. Both were super and super friendly with incredible service.The only down side is the evening shows were pretty awful but tue sister resort next door had great entertainment.We give this resort Five Stars and straight A's. The staff here felt like family. Great job Team Riu

New, contemporary, nice rooms and amenities. The resort layout is very nice. Extremely hard working staff. The entire place is spotless and well maintained. The staff is very hospitable. Great food and entertainment. Plenty of activities offered.The pools are amazing. Excellent baby pool and the kids love the water slides.Very scenic views, it is very pretty. Best value Mexico package I've ever done.

Beautiful resort.Best food I've ever had at an all inclusive.Our group couldn't get enough of the sushi at the buffet.Beautiful beach.David at the pool bar is the man.We had a party of 13, and he made sure we felt like royalty.The staff at the restaurants were all wonderful too.My only complaint is when I get a room with 2 beds, I fully expect them to be queen size.I have never seen 2 full size beds.Bad call Riu.Cut costs on slippery tile around the pool and use stamped concrete instead.

Having just got back from the Riu Palace Costa Mujeres in Cancun, I have a very good idea of where this resort is going and how it’s going to be for many of those asking the questions.Let me first say that our family stay here was excellent! As a brand new resort, we were expecting a lot of shortcomings and problems but were surprised to see that there were very few issues.Most of the problems we encountered had to do with food preparation and quality, something that I’m sure will change over the next year to be at or higher than the standards now set for many of the Riu properties around the Caribbean. Other smaller issues were just that, small in comparison to the resort overall.Upon arriving to the resort, my wife was a bit “underwhelmed” at the front entrance area, when comparing it to other resorts we’ve stayed at.It is new and the foliage is not yet grown in, however the overall “modern” style design of the building from the front does not invoke a huge WOW factor, I have to admit.The building itself looks boxy and not exactly “grand” when you arrive, but inside, things change quickly.We were ushered inside where check-in was a breeze!Crespo, one of the doormen, whistled our bags inside while we went to the front desk.No hassles, no problems whatsoever.Amairani was our attendant and she did a fantastic job, making us feel VERY welcome.Immediately, I asked who the top ranking manager was.I found out that it was Inigo (pronounced roughly, IN_YU_GO) Calvo.He is a meek and quiet person who always has a very large smile and is very approachable.He’s the number one guy running the place right now so and he is deeply concerned about your satisfaction and any issues you might have.Don’t let his quiet demeanor fool you, believe me, any issues get fixed immediately if you speak with Inigo or his number one PR representative, Guadalupe Montero.Between those two, your problems will be solved and you will be very impressed with the service these two, and their entire staff, provide.SUMMARY:This resort has the potential to be a flagship resort, rivaling even the Cancun Peninsula Riu Palace in the Hotel Zone, where I’ve also been at.Funny thing, Inigo was working there when I was there as well, three years ago.Now he’s here at the Costa Mujeres.The layout of this resort is the best I’ve seen of all the Riu’s I’ve been to.The beach here is the real star.The fine white sands that go for miles and miles will win your heart!This is the first Riu Palace I’ve been to that has a beach that can match the one in Cuba, where I normally go each year as well.While this resort is still sorting out some growing pains and will take about a year to resolve, it does and will be a large draw from those that like Riu properties AND excellent beaches.This one has both!The Dunamar next door just seals the deal with the water park for the kids.Will we be back?Of course we will!DRAWBACKS:Kids in the swim up bar pools.Location is very far from Cancun.Until this area can generate its own flea markets, vendors, etc., the hotel should look into providing FREE DAILY shuttle service to Mercado 28 or similar until the area gets either bus service or local vendors.This is the only drawback for most people.Many people stay in the hotel zone instead because access to the downtown is very cheap by bus or taxi compared to the cost of a taxi from Costa Mujeres.Fix these two issues and RIU PALACE COSTA MUJERES will increase the number of people that WANT to go this resort, ten fold!Small price to pay for a full resort every week, don’t you think?You can view my detailed walkthrough videos of this resort by going to my YouTube channel, Tim Willms, and searching “Riu Palace Costa Mujeres Walkthrough, Part 1”.

Advertising said "all inclusive 24hrs" and it's NOT , they have scheduled breakfast, lunch and dinner, there is no room service, other than that the place is new it's very nice, beautiful views, lots of pools really white soft sands and complex is huge if you like walking this is the place.This is not the first time I stayed in a RIU Hotel, i know there should be a menu in each room but there was none hence we call to the reception and they told us there was no room service... other than thatthe place is excellent i would definitely come back!

Como es un hotel nuevo, todas las instalaciones y la limpieza en general son muy buenas, sin embargo la atención recibida por parte de los empleados en general, fue muy mala, se tardaban en llevarte un pedido simple muchísimo tiempo, le pedías algo a otro mesero que iba pasando y se negaba pues decía "que no era su área y por ende no lo podía llevar", en las albercas llegaba la hora de cierre y con una actitud muy mala te corrían, la comida no es muy buena que digamos, llevamos a un niño con varias alergias y se tardaron un día entero en darnos una carta para mostrarla en los restaurantes y que le sirvieran comida especial y en los cuales su comida tardaba muchísimo tiempo en llegar y cuando llegaba estaba fría, un par de veces llegó ya hasta que iban a cerrar y básicamente nos dijeron "sólo que ya vamos a cerrar y pues no pueden permanecer aquí así que se las ponemos para llevar", no tienen una buena actitud de servicio, comparado con otros hoteles de la zona, ustedes dejan muchísimo que desear, es la primera y última vez que iré a su hotel.

Muy buen hotel. La playa no es buena. Termina en las mismas palmeras. Hay muchas reposteras y playa y piletas. No hay tanto sargazo en esa zona. La gastronomía y bebidas muy bien. La amabilidad de los camareros y staff de lo mejor, para destacar.Los cuartos y balcones muy amplios. Problemas si vas en familia, el baño abierto, no hay división entre baño y habitación. Muy bien la zona de toboganes para adultos y niños.

Hotel de nueva apertura, excelente en cuanto diseño minimalista muy vanguardista, los muebles muy cómodos, contrastes increibles, instalaciones muy amplias y limpias, todo el personal muy amable, los tragos muy buenos, la vista maravillosa; lo único que está fuera de lugar es que en la tienda de conveniencia que se encuentra dentro, todos los precios son en dolares o su equivalente en pesos mexicanos, por unos cigarros y un encendedor pague 246 pesos mexicanos.

Las instalaciones son nuevas y la playa y albercas de muy buena calidad y gusto. Lastima que los restaurantes de especialidad no exista un encargado (gerente) se hacen locos con la lista de espera y el servicio es mediocre, los platillos buenos pero creo que pueden tener más potencial en términos de la carne etc... lastima pudiera ser un hotel de 5. Falta un poco más de servicio a cliente.El personal del lobby muy atento y profesional.

New and in a quite part of Cancun. 50 minutes from airport. Water park is great for the kiddies. Don't leave valuables in your rental car. The road to get there is third world and dangerous. Food is good, pools are excellent and the palm tree lined beach is amazing. There is also a pier close by.

I would stay here again. The rooms were beautiful and the view from the balcony was amazing. We had plenty of options for food and dessert. There were a wide variety of cultural options. The pools were nice and they always had some fun pool activity going to keep the guests engaged. Definitely on a list of places to go back to.

Nice Hotel, not too big to get lost and not too small to get bored. Location is perfect, away from packed, crowded Hotel Zone and yet clean beach. Staff is super helpful, go beyond what is required to ensure a great vacation. Every night there is Music program geared for entire family. Great place for relaxing vacation.

Unbelievable place.It's about 50 minutes north of the Cancun airport.The beach is amazing and far from downtown so it's only occupied by the hotel guests.Food is great (except for room service) and the service is wonderful.We felt very safe and I wouldn't hesitate to take the kids.

It is new hotel, it seems that team is not that prepared. My main concern that employees don't speak English. I used Google translator to translate to Spanish. The hotel looks beautiful. The food is delicious. The beach is huge with a lot ofsun bed's.

We've been to 5 Riu hotels in the Caribbean the last few years. Riu Palace Mexico was our absolute favourite but since our visit here it's our shared #1. Great facilities, lovely food but above all, and most important; extremely kind and caring staff members all around the resort. 5-star plus!

Friendly and helpful staff.Food was amazing!Only draw back was the room....bathtub sits literally beside the bed.The shower has frosted glass but also not in a closed room.Not friendly for friends or older family members staying together.Have to undress and dress in the shower!Never seen this type of layout before.

Nice rooms but service was lacking. Hotel full, the two pool/exterior bars were constantly busy. I waited 20min on average. No beach bar and only two servers serving the beach of the two hotels. Very disappointed

Muy bonito y amplio el hotel, tiene enormes jardines en su interior y cuenta con muy grandes piscinas, el lobby cuenta con aire acondicionado y con un personal muy amable. Las habitaciones son muy completas y comodas. Cuentan con shows de mariachis en las noches y mucha comida.
